Sample Newsletter Issue

A quick example of what you'll get in your inbox.

This is a lightweight "sample issue" page so you can see the tone and structure before you subscribe. The real emails are short, practical, and written for people who have to live with the decision.

1) The thing vendors won't say out loud

If a contract term is vague, it isn't neutral. It's optionality for the vendor and risk for you. Anything that matters (data export, security obligations, AI usage, pricing triggers) needs to be explicit.

2) What to do this week

  • Pull your current agreement and highlight every "reasonable efforts" clause.
  • Write down what you think it means. Ask the vendor to put it in writing.
  • Decide what "good enough" looks like before renewal pressure hits.

3) A link worth your time

When I find a study, policy change, or real-world case that actually affects libraries, I'll send it with the "what it means" version: not the press release.
