Immediate focus

2. **EU AI Act (rolling through Aug 2026)** - Check whether discovery/chatbot vendors classify as high-risk; capture technical documentation commitments in contracts.
3. **California AB 2013** - Update patron notices wherever AI ranks results; stand up bias audit scripts.

Board / Counsel script
----------------------
- "We have <number> AI-adjacent systems. Two fall into high-risk categories; both need documented bias testing before FY27."
- "Vendors must certify deletion/opt-out controls before renewals. Language is attached in the contract addendum."
- "We track pending bills via Orrick + NCSL; filter summary attached so we're not blindsided in session."
